Sad Day

We've heard about accidents involving rickshaws, but I don't think any of them can compare to this bit of news I gleaned from this site. The report said that 12 children died in an accident which involves a rickshaw and an NLC Troller which I presume is a large truck. This accident happened in Pakistan. This kind of accident is really devastating.

The report reads: "Fourteen people including 12 Children were killed in an accident between NLC Troller and a motor cycle rickshaw on Multan Road near Patoki.

According to details, the accident happened on Wednesday morning at 7:45am near Jhorian Bridge when a NLC Troller coming from Multan fell on a motorcycle rickshaw carrying 17 children of Okara to a school located in Habibabad.

According to police officials, all the dead children were belonged to Sitara Chak, a village of Okara and the accident happened near that village. The people after the incident reached on the spot and have taken out the bodies of the children. The ages of the children are ranging from 7 to 12 years of age.

The dead children identified as Saeeda and Nazia daughters of Nazeer Ahmed, Tasleem Iqbal and Nadeem Iqbal sons of Muhammad Ishaq, Zakia and Iqra daughters of Mansha, Hamayun son of Muhammad Sarwar, Zeeshan son Farooq Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Yaqoob, Ayesha and others. The driver of the Motor Cycle Rickshaw have been identified as Kashif."

It is really devastating for the families of these children. They are so young with the bright futures ahead of them. Unfortunately, we cannot turn back time and stop that accident from happening. Nevertheless, I just hope that this will serve as a reminder to every driver out there t o be extra careful especially if you are driving a vehicle large enough to crush some unknowing children.
