From Rickshaws To Land Rovers, Say What?
Rickshaws are ordinary vehicles you’ll often spot in India. Aside from the country’s rich culture and exceptional traditions, India is considered as one of the early regions from around the world to adopt the man-propelled vehicle. But today, the face of India’s world of transportation may turn a new leaf… finally! I guess drivers of rickshaws would be fastening seatbelts rather than pulling and sweating it out in pulling these carts.
According to ABC news, Tata Motors, an Indian car company, hopes to purchase Jaguar and Land Rover brands from the Ford Motor Company. People from India will be excited. I guess this is the right time to carry out vehicles to a traditional country like India. The fact that their economic stability has grown stronger for the past years is probably the perfect time to let an average Indian take seat behind the wheel of a Land Rover or a Jaguar.
According to the source, a lot of Indians are showing willingness and excitement to buy and drive their own cars. One of these eager men is Satish Jain, a 42-year-old citizen of India. He spent his fourth hour outside a vehicle showroom in New Delhi, long after the dealership had closed for business that day for he was waiting for the coming of his first-ever car.
ABC asked, “Why did he have to buy his brand new $9,000 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Wednesday?”
Satish Jain answered: "My priest told me I had to buy the car Wednesday. If any other day, maybe I have an accident, maybe it falls apart. Wednesday, I'll have no problems."
Asking for heavenly automotive guidance was totally expected for a religious Hindu. But as an Indian, Jain had to struggle years of instinct to settle on buying a car.
"I am very happy," he said as he handed over five $300 checks as a down payment. "We have always used rickshaws to get around. Now we can go shopping as a family."
